Top Fall Nail Designs I’m Trying in 2025

There’s something about this time of year that makes me want to incorporate darker moody colors into my everyday – specifically my nails. I’m typically a Neutral Nail girly, but with cooler mornings and cozy evenings, it makes me want to switch things up a bit. Pinterest is overflowing with fresh nail inspiration right now, and I’ve been saving way too many ideas. So, I thought I’d share the ones I’m actually excited to try.

These are the Fall nail trends that feel chic, wearable, and perfect for that summer-to-fall transition.

Moody Chocolate Browns

I didn’t think I’d become a brown nail polish person, but here we are. Deep, glossy chocolate nails are all over Pinterest right now, and they look so elegant. They’re bold without being flashy, and somehow they pair with everything—from jeans and sneakers to a sleek blazer.

If you want something more subtle, try a warm caramel or latte shade on the tips. It still gives fall energy but feels lighter for everyday wear when it’s not fully sweater weather yet.

Olive Greens That Go With Everything

Green has quietly become another nail color of the moment, and olive is the star. It’s muted, earthy, and surprisingly versatile. I’ve seen it styled with gold rings and cozy knits on my feed, but honestly, it looks just as good against a crisp white tee.

To make it more fun, add a metallic accent—like a gold stripe across one nail or a subtle chrome finish. It feels elevated without being too much.

Fall Burgundy Nail Ideas

French tips never really go away, but this season it’s all about making it moody. Instead of classic white, burgundy is taking over. It’s moody, sophisticated, and still minimal enough for everyday wear. The micro-French feels modern while giving just a hint of drama.

If burgundy isn’t your thing, try a deep plum or even forest green. Both shades are making waves on Pinterest, and they’re a chic way to dip into fall without going full-on dark.

Nudes & Neutrals With a Twist

When in doubt, you can never go wrong with nude nails in any season, but especially in Fall. It’s soft, wearable, and works whether you’re still holding onto your sundresses or already pulling out trench coats.

This style is also perfect if you love shorter nails or natural shapes. It makes your hands look polished without screaming “statement manicure.” Plus, wearing gold rings really takes it up a notch.

Oval Burgundy

Another color I like to see this time of year is Burgundy. It’s a trending color right now and the epitome of sophisticated. I love the velvet look these Olive & June press-on nails give. There are plenty other in-season styles available as well.

Nail Shapes I’m Loving for Fall & Winter

Alongside colors and designs, shapes are shifting too. Pinterest boards are filled with:

  1. Almond – timeless and flattering, they elongate your fingers.
  2. Short Square – clean, minimal, and perfect if you don’t like fuss.
  3. Soft Coffin – a little edgy but still wearable for everyday.

Personally, my go-to is almond shape. It’s functional while still very chic.

To Wrap Up

Fall nails styles are all about trying something different – whether it’s a darker moody color, a new shape, etc. This is the time of year to get creative with your nails. If you don’t want to commit, I definitely would suggest trying press-on nails first. Be sure to read some of my tips for wearing and maintaining press-on nails.
